What to Bring
  • Coolers large enough to hold sack lunches, water, and ice packs for your entire group. We will load your cooler each morning to take to your work site.
  • Work clothes and regular clothes for each day. Work clothes are recommended at the service sites.
  • Bibles and Journals.
  • Medications and a first-aid kit.
Your Trip, Your Responsibility
  • You and your leaders are responsible for your students at all times. While we facilitate the logistics, this is your group trip. We recommend setting clear expectations and boundaries for cell phone use, curfew, and chaperoning.
  • Consider group dynamics. We find it helpful to set the tone for your group ahead of the actual trip. When having informational meetings with students and parents, be clear on your expectations and desires. Quickly addressing teasing, bullying, coarse language, and bad attitudes is always more beneficial than letting them fester and hope they go away on their own. We expect you and your team leaders to address these actions and will assist you in providing space for this if needed.
  • PDA. We discourage all students from expressing public displays of affection while here. It is extremely distracting for other students and takes the focus away from what God is doing among us. While we value healthy PDA between mature adult relationships, we have no way of knowing if that is the situation in your group.
  • Set the tone early. We encourage spending time in prayer with your group ahead of the trip. Teaching students how to share their testimony and how to start good conversations will prepare them for a successful experience.
  • Send them off well. Consider having your church send them off at your morning service on Sunday, July 7th. Students will take the experience more seriously if they know their church is behind them. Also consider giving them an opportunity to share their experience of what God taught them the following Sunday, July 14th.
  • Consider a digital fast. We encourage students to use this opportunity to leave their cell phones and smart watches at home or with their leaders. While this may seem difficult to some students, we promise there will be enough happening to keep their minds busy.
  • Model the desired behavior. Nothing is more off-putting than someone setting rules and then not following them. Consider keeping your phone in the glove box of your vehicle to show your students that an undistracted experience is possible for you too.
Leader Cost
  • Leaders will need to register and pay along with each student. To keep costs as low as possible and accommodate varying group sizes and dynamics, we have priced everyone the same.
  • Please bring the appropriate amount of leaders for your group. We recommend at least one male and one female leader per ten students. But you know your students best and how many leaders you need.
