The Psalms are the prayer book of the Jewish people and the Christian faith. As we walk through both the joys and heartbreaks of this life, the Psalms are a companion to walk with us. The book of Psalms recognizes the realities of pain and heartache due to the corruption of this world. These prayers do not hold back honest emotions of anger and confusion about what God is doing. But the Psalms also offer hope of a future deliverance from this corruption and look to the Messiah and His kingdom to set everything right. As we walk through the ups and downs of our lives, let the Psalms guide our prayers along the way.
We are excited to host a book club on "Praying Like Monks, Living Like Fools" alongside our teaching series on prayer. This book club will meet for six weeks on Sunday afternoons from 4:00 - 5:00 pm starting July 2nd. We will be meeting at our building at 5630 Saratoga Rd. with child care provided.
In this short, 6 minute interview, the late Tim Keller explains how he prays the Psalms and what benefit it has brought to his life.
For many people, the topic of prayer brings many questions. Some are personal, others theological, and many are just practical. How does this work? What about unanswered prayers? We want to be able to address these in a Question and Response panel discussion. We have set aside our final Sunday morning to be able to speak into the important outworkings of prayer.
Submit your questions throughout the series and we may address them on our Q&R Sunday, August 13th.
